Brazil is well known for its coffee production and has a rich history which has been well documented. Growing around a third of the worlds coffee, it is the largest coffee producer.
This specialty grade coffee is sourced from the Pantano Estate in the Cerrado region of Brazil. The Yellow Catuai varietal is known for its sweetness. The coffee is machine picked once it has ripened enough and is separated after the harvest to ensure more uniformity before being dried on patios for 7 - 10 days.
The Pantano Estate covers an area of 550 hectares of which more than 300 hectares is reserved for permanent natural forest reserves - six times more than is required under Brazilian law.
The farm supports a local school, funds training for its staff and provides full health care.
